The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has called upon the opponents of President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election to gracefully accept their defeat and await their turn.
He further emphasized the importance of collaborating with the government to advance Nigeria.
Speaking with state house correspondents in Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, the Speaker extended his congratulations to President Tinubu on his Supreme Court victory.
He highlighted that this triumph is not solely for President Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress but is a shared victory for all Nigerians.
Abbas Tajudeen’s remarks were echoed by other prominent APC leaders, including the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, who affirmed that President Tinubu’s victory reaffirms the mandate granted to him by the Nigerian people and demonstrates the strength of Nigeria’s electoral and judicial processes.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeals filed by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party, as well as their candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively.
